Hello, and welcome to 1EMDR.com.
My name is Lapo, and this website is both deeply personal and profoundly important to me. I am a veteran who served in combat roles in the U.S. Army. Like many others who have walked this path, I’ve carried invisible wounds — trauma, PTSD, and the long shadow they cast on everyday life.
I discovered Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) not in a textbook, but in the quiet struggle of trying to heal myself. My EMDR sessions gave me something I had almost lost — relief, resilience, and hope. This site began when I was housebound due to one of my service-connected disabilities. Writing, researching, and sharing became not just a project, but a way to reclaim my voice.
Today, 1EMDR.com is more than my story — it’s a community resource. Here, you’ll find:
- Real-life insights from my own journey with PTSD and trauma recovery.
- Evidence-based research on EMDR and related therapies.
- Guest contributions from people who live, study, and practice in the world of trauma healing.
- Resources and guides that can help you navigate PTSD, anxiety, depression, and the unique challenges that come with trauma.
I don’t claim to have all the answers. What I do have is experience, curiosity, and a passion for building something useful for anyone searching for healing — whether you’re a veteran, a trauma survivor, a family member, or a therapist.
💡 Have you tried EMDR yourself? What was your experience?
I’d love to hear your story. This site isn’t meant to be one voice, but many. Healing is not a straight path — it’s a conversation we walk together.
